Beautiful message from a crest at the Jesuit Villa, Mirador Hill, Baguio City.
7 months ago • 0 notesM: Hi, B and J! Meet my cousin, T! T, say hi!
T: applezarchunkaaaay
M, B & J: *bewildered*
[during lunchtime]
M: T, what did you say when I introduced you to B and J?
T: applezarchunkaaay (said this an n number of times first)
M: what?
T: apples are chunky.
It just so happened that my cousin’s friend on pet society (FB addict!) sent her an apple as a gift, and upon T’s inquiry on why he gave her an apple only, her friend reasoned: “because applesarechunky”. (*lightbulb!*)

[SMS]
M: hey B! alam ko na kung ano yung sinabi kanina, it was “apples are chunky”
B: in english?
M: yeah, except really fast.
B: oh my goodness! I thought she greeted us in another language!
THE END.
Dear Friends,
The username applezarchunky came from a romantic interlude between my 9 y/o cousin’s candidness, my wit’s end, and a strong dash of humor.
The Family just came from Baguio because ang INIT INIT ng Manila! Personally, it was also a good reprieve for me because of all the stress of work. @.@
Stayed at the Estaniels’ townhome (Unit IV-3A), it’s so refreshing there as well! The cold was very welcoming. Parang parating naka-aircon. haha :P
This time around we went to a slew of churches — (the usual) Pink Sisters, Dominican Hill (imagine a delapidated church [ala secret garden], with two moss-covered fountains [take note: na HINDI nasira despite the earthquake — weird, ‘innit? One just HAS to picture it!]), Our Lady of Lourdes shrine, etc. This time around, we also went to the Jesuit Villa (@ Mirador Hill, Baguio) just above the Lady of Lourdes shrine. Really beautiful, serene, god-centric place. You can just FEEL the inner peace it brings :)
Lastly, aside from the fresh food and veggies, we also ate out. Worth mentioning would be:
(1) Rose Bowl, Session Road — SARAP old chinese cuisine, at very cheap prices! and;
(2) Forest House Bistro and Cafe (http://www.foresthousebaguio.com/). I remember the last time our family visited Forest House Cafe (some 4-6 years ago), it was still very new. May enchanted tree (and I’m not kidding; I read about this on the Inquirer) pa sa harap. They still served the same good food and refreshing hot drinks. Ngayon, they still had the same feel but even BETTER! They now have singers and sell homemade goods! Not to mention, their cakes are soooooo mouth-watering (pronounced: “wouth-matering”) Really a place to go visit again and again!
Haaay, make no mistake, even if I’ve been here more times one can count, Baguio will always hold a special a place in my “go to” list every year.
P.S. Buy Tupig on your way down from Baguio — good snack to eat… It may look like it has “worms” (to which my lola would tell my mum: “ “HENDE”! (Lola’s version of hindi) buko yan, ‘nak… (hahaha! the apos giggle silently from the back… she had us at “hende”) ). Yes, its real good coconut meat mixed with flour and molasses (and! sugar and milk!).
Thank you, Estaniels of 141!
Always,
The Dominguezes of 52
